This is a space for me to share the small steps I’m taking every day to live more environmentally aware and responsibly. From all-natural cleaning tips and honey facials, to being conscious of packaging sizes while you grocery shop. It’s hard to be an eco-freak, live off the grid, buy only local produce, and use products that are %100 natural. It’s also expensive. I’m doing what I can within my restrictions, and I want to encourage others not to be discouraged and to try, even if it’s just turning the water off when you brush your teeth.

Whoever said “ignorance is bliss” was dead wrong. You don’t have to be an ignorant shopper. Shopping is a battlefield.  You are bombarded with products. The Enemy (your fellow shopper) is all around you. Booby-traps in the form of “up to 50%” off signs lure you into a transaction. Never go into battle unarmed.

I’ll arm you with the necessities that you need before your next shopping trip. I’ll show you how to sniff out a deal, when paying more now means paying less later, product comparisons, negotiation tactics, and websites for research and purchases, alerts on new products, etc.

My introductory blog covered just about everything I’ve been doing for the last three plus years. But after reading Martha Beck’s “The Joy Diet” last night there was a line that made me smile; because when you take away all the fancy accomplishments, all the busy-ness surrounding building a business, you still have to keep a weather eye on whether what you’re accomplishing and doing are still what you want. Beck said, “…each person has a “right life”, a journey through this world that will bring him or her the most possible joy and fulfillment.”

I liked that simple statement because I’ve been guilty of getting caught up in the whirlwind that is my life and wondering if everything I’m doing is what I want to be doing or what feels right anymore.

Lately I’ve been moving away from Life Coaching and more into pure teaching which feels “right”. With a silly grin I now tell people I’m an adventuring philosopher but it feels “right”. Taking the years of study to which I’ve devoted myself, reading all the books, learning about all the systems that promise to help people achieve their best life, I’ve decided that I can do the most good helping people navigate the very confusing “self-help” world.

There’s a lot of info and I seem to have a knack for boiling down a philosophical concept into common sense terms. I love it.

I am a woman of a certain age who likes to laugh and make others laugh. I am eccentric to say the least, (or just nuts, you decide).  I have a husband and a dog, both of whom are a constant source of amusement.  I believe that laughter is the greatest gift on earth. Laugh and the world laughs with you, but after age 40 you are at the mercy of bladder control. I believe you can find humour in the most unlikely situations, and I am always looking.  That’s life kids, grab the world by the throat and come along for the ride. Mind, Body and Soul
